WIDESPREAD ARMYWORM OUTBREAKS WERE REPORTED IN NDOLA, LUANSHYA AND KITWE DISTRICTS IN THE COPPERBELT PROVINCE, ZAMBIA DURING THE 3RD WEEK OF DECEMBER 2002.

There is a high probability of a second wave of outbreaks occurring in the Province. Other Provinces in Zambia that are at risk include: Central, Lusaka, Eastern, Southern, and North Western.

Other countries within the IRLCO-CSA region where there is a HIGH probability of Armyworm outbreaks occurring include: MALAWI, MOZAMBIQUE AND ZIMBABWE.

Armyworm Trap Operators are STRONGLY advised to submit the moth catch data to their respective National forecasting Officers.
